Description

1990's Retro Socceroos Jersey - Australian national football team. A replica of what was worn by legends such as Robbie Slater, Aurelio Vidmar, Mehmet Durakovic, Ned Zelic and Graham Arnold in the early nineties. This extremely ugly shirt has gained quite the cult following as a retro favorite. Not only because it hurts your eyes to look at but also because of the vast amount of jokes the Socceroos made about it, many players even claiming that it was so ugly nobody changed shirts with them after matches! The shirt was originally made by a small local company which either on purpose or by mistake could not align the pattern with the shirt sizes causing each of the shirts to look different! Nobody at FIFA noticed that the Socceroos were not wearing identical shirts across the team or maybe they just didn't bother because they were busy laughing so hard. The shirt was worn for 2 years and the players wearing them inspired thousands to take up professional football, fast forward a decade and you have the rise of the golden age of Socceroos. This jersey is now re-manufactured under license from the FFA by VBM, celebrating the 1990's football and design culture, this is not just a shirt but a piece of Australian history. Manufactured by VBM.
